People for Animals (PFA), located in Thiruvananthapuram, is the largest animal rights organization in India. Currently, there are 165 centers like this across the country. Their goals include advocating for animal welfare, preventing all ill-treatment, and preserving their natural habitat.
On a typical day, PFA saves at least four animals in the streets. For PFA, a rescue often marks the beginning of a lifetime commitment. They shelter rescued animals in their emergency shelters, provide them with medical treatment, food and care, but also help them overcome the trauma and restore their confidence in man. They organize adoption campaigns for puppies and kittens, as well as vaccination campaigns and sterilization programs.
Back from a trip to India, Mrs. Amaddeo, President of the Foundation, was touched by their many actions. That is why “Les Néréides Loves Animals” wished to participate in this commitment.
