The PAG (Animal Protection Association of Guyana), is an association law 1901 created by a Parisian (visiting Guyana) animal lovers in 2013, and declared general interest a year later with regard to its positive activities brought to the community.
The aim of this association is: the protection of animals, the care and placement of animals in distress, the assistance to the owners of disadvantaged animals to have easier access to veterinary care, carry out sterilization and information campaigns to populations through the local education system and the creation of a clinic to meet the demand and thus save more animals.
The PAG rents a 2-hectare plot of land with a wooden house that serves as a refuge, a refuge that must be transformed into a dispensary, coupled with a shelter for dogs and cats. This association also has shelters in Cayenne to carry out their various projects, but the difficulties are great and this without counting overheads, part-time employees, care with veterinarians, food, and an ever increasing demand rescues that generate costs that make it more difficult to make choices on the animal to be treated first, to accept or refuse an animal.
This year, they have already saved more than a hundred animals !
The Foundation Les Néréides Loves Animals has decided to support this association, which, like many, lives mainly with donations from benefactors and animal lovers.
August 9th 2017 : donation of 3.000 euros
