The association GroinGroin, founded in 2005 by a vet, is an animal shelter located between Le Mans and Laval (West of France). The members of the refuge are passionate volunteers who work with patience and kindness in order to find and select families for all the abandoned animals they rescued.
The main mission of this refuge is to inform the public on the adoption of pig pets as 70% of them end up being abandoned due to the lack of information of people who adopt them without having any idea of how they should take care of these pigs.
Today, the shelter has grown and is now located on a 12 hectares land where animals can live in total freedom surrounded by love and care. Among them, 30 pigs (mini pigs and farm pigs), 10 horses, cows, goats, sheeps, poultry, dogs and cats keep each other company.
With the help brought by Les Néréides Loves Animals, this association was able to build about twenty niches for these animals !
