L214 Éthique & Animaux is a non-profit organization dedicated to animals used in food production (meat, milk, eggs, fish), revealing their conditions of breeding, transport, fishing and slaughter.
The name of the association refers to the article L214 of the rural code: in 1976, animals are for the first time designated as sensitive beings.
The association L214:
– field investigation and reveals what the ads do not show;
– takes legal action to ensure that ill-treatment is punished;
– mobilizes to ensure that large-scale distribution ceases to sell products derived from intensive livestock production;
– encourages people to think about the exploitation of animals in our society, and to act on a daily basis, in particular by adopting a vegetable diet.
With tenacity, L214 manages to change things. Investigations carried out by the association in French slaughterhouses led in 2016 to the setting up of a parliamentary inquiry into the conditions for slaughtering animals. Through its campaigns, virtually all retailers have agreed to stop selling caged eggs from cages by 2025.
L214 is part of a movement that wants a society attentive to the needs of all sentient beings. L214 wants our society to recognize that animals are not available to us and that they can no longer be used as such. They are also inhabitants of this planet and their interests deserve consideration.
The Néréides Loves Animals has set up a monthly aid to L214 in the amount of 500 euros, in order to participate in its way to these fights.
